How to Post Bail

How to Post Bail

If a friend or a family member ever finds them self in jail, chances are that they will get only one phone call. If they choose to give you a call, you might be overwhelmed. You may think to yourself that you have never done this before and will wonder how you will bail them out of prison. This is where bail bonds come in handy. Following tips can guide you in helping your friends and family members.

The first thing that you need is money. In order to get someone out of jail, you are going to need to pay the cost of the premium. For example, the premium of a bail set at $10,000 is $1,000. This premium can be paid by many different ways. At most locations cash and credit are both accepted. Collateral may also be required but if the bail costs less than $10,000, you might not need to provide collateral unless you are jobless, have poor credit or a lot of debts. An ideal example of collateral is a piece of land that is worth equally to the amount of money required to get your friend or family member out of jail.

If you have good credit then it will be much easier to help your friends and family members out of prison because it can speed up the process of getting a bail bond and as a result you can get your loved ones out of jail and they can continue to live their lives normally while they await their trial.
